Pretty but do not touch.

I am guessing that this is not a woolly yarrow.

As the name implies, it can kill you if you eat the bulbs. It looks a lot like wild onions.

They look like they are wagging their tails when the wind is blowing. They do have bladders.

These are very common on BBI.

Here is a Indian Paintbrush.

This previously unknown flower has been identified by Ellen Weatherbee author of Great Lakes Coastal Plants.

Very common, but pretty.

Called a weed. As the yellow coreopsis fades these yellow flowers take their place everywhere on Bois Blanc.

The little flowers progress towards the top of the spikes.

This is the fruit of a variety of anemone.

Almost called this Solomons Seal, but found out that would be incorrect.

Located in Section 11 on South side of the big ridge, overlooking Cable Marsh.

Probably the most common "road" flower on BBI, after daisys. Usually seen covered in dust along the county roads. Must be tough.

These stand out. This is the only orange species. There are also supposedly five yellow species on BBI. In Michigan there are 15 yellow species of hawkweed.

A little out of focus. This is not a Pink Lady's Slipper according to the book I have. It is past its prime. I will find a better one some day.

A little beauty.

Leaves are yellow and waxy. Bugs stick to them, die, and the nutrients absorbed. The little flowers have a tail.

Found right beside the road on the north shore.
