The brown thing in the picture is my dog, Miniss. Miniss means "island" in Ojibway. Zela Island is a small dark streak in the upper right out in the Straits. Notice how the bad Phragmites has stayed very green, while the native Phragmites has turned quite yellow in late October, before a hard frost. It is a perfect time to look for it.
