There are at least nine different speedwells in Michigan, and six on BBI, but you can tell if it is a speedwell if you note that one of the four petals is smaller then the other three.
This one is classed as a Eurasian weed.
These have a double flower that turns into this fused together double berry.
This is probably a starry false Solomon-seal. These usually grow in the sand, but this big one was in the hardwoods on Round Island. The false Solomon-seals have the flowers in terminal clusters. The true Solomon-seal has one flower per leaf axil hanging down..
The common wild rose of Bois Blanc. It has double serrate leaves.
Rosa acicularis
Found in Bill & Angie Mitchell's yard at Sand Bay.

Found on Round Island. You can't see the flowers until you look under the leaves.
This small violet grows in the wettest places. Places where the cedar is stunted and black ash grows. Sunlight makes it to the ground through the spare cover to allow this to grow. Not listed as being on BBI, but it is.
Type violet in the picture name search and see six violets on BBI.
As the name says, it grows in bogs or fens.
There are 3 kinds on BBI, spotted, striped, and this one with an unspotted lip. Corallorhiza trifida var. verna

These totally lack chlorophyll.

Smells so Good.
I'm ready
A walk on the driveway produced many slug sightings. The girls were very intrigued by them.
This is a picture of a picture so the quality is not very good. Photo belongs to Lee, Curt's sis.

Note how the little white flowers go out on little stems of their own. Also see the little stinging hairs on the main stalk.

Weather
Can anybody recommend a good weather box? I tried weather.com and it loads way too slow if it loads at all.
