Then we need to have a movie of it! Or at least a concealed tape recorder to capture the screams?

I'm on the rock Sat. PM. Hope you party animals have some life left over after friday. Sat PM we are gonna burn some meat at the hut, on the berm, rain, snow, or moonlight. Be there or be square.

Lot's of winter prep going on here... Got the wood almost stacked .. Lots of computer work to get at and editing to get a print order in.. Birthdays and relatives.. It never ends! I want to come up for the Holloween Party at the Tavern.. That would be the best fun! If all else falls thru I'll definitely be up for rifle season to work? Maybe.. Definitely to have fun! Very Happy I miss everyone sooo much!

Reading back through this thread. See where it got started with chipmunks and went who knows where?

Back to chimpunks

I thought I had a problem LAST year. Where did they all come from?

I am going to have to thin them just like I did the squirrels ( down to 2 from 25) Live trap them and take them on a sentimental journey 2-3 miles down the road.

I don't know if they make a two door (havahart type) trap small enough for chipmunks or not. My big coon size one isn't sensitive enough for anything that small. (not heavy enough fo rock the trip plate)

Nor do I have time to sit around with a box propped up with a stick.

Somewhere I saw a home made chipmunk trap made out of 1/2" heavy screen, that used a mouse trap inside. Instead of the mouse trap lever catching and killing the chipmunk, it was used to slam the door shut and keep chippie locked inside. No brainer simple.

I just can't remember exactly how it was built. Anyone else seen one of these? Probably wouldn't have $3.00 into one.

I saw a metal box that had an opening for bait and a second "room" for the animal. It was a live mouse trap that might work for Chip & Dale. You wind up a spring. The spring is used to rotate paddles that scoop up and push the rodent into the holding chamber. I have no idea where you would get one. Maybe Google it.

I have seen those too! Years ago. Wind it up! No idea how the trip mechanism works.

I found what I was looking for. Kind of like a havart trap with one door except simpler. Chippy strolls in and his weight on a sire screen simply releases the door behind him. A gem of simplicity. Built from 1"x1" garden fencing. I am going to build a couple and will take a picture.
