Many do not know about The Little Traverse Conservancy. Or may think it is a bunch of tree-huggers running nature preserves and game sanctuaries. Not necessarily so. It is a grass roots organization dedicated to preserving Northern Michigan for the benefit of future generations.

I urge you to take a closer look, and hopefully become a member. Decide for yourself if LTC's vision of Northern Michigan in the future, is the same as your perception of how it is, now.

Quote:
What we don’t do:

The Conservancy provides people with alternatives, not ultimatums. We do not protest, lobby, or sue. We do not tell individuals or governments how to manage their land. Instead, we work with all landowners whether they are conservationists or developers—to protect northern Michigan’s natural features. After all, protecting the North’s natural appeal is in everyone’s best interest.

Most of us have a sizeable investment in northern Michigan. Whether we own a home, cottage, business, or simply harbor a great love for this beautiful land, we each have an interest in the future of the area. Consider the Little Traverse Conservancy as a land protection insurance policy which helps safeguard not only the value of your personal investment but also your overall enjoyment of the area. A healthy natural environment directly relates to a healthy economy and quality of life in northern Michigan.

Take a moment to reflect on what northern Michigan means to you. Consider that right now, we have an opportunity to make a direct impact on what the future holds for this region. It truly is up to us. Don’t look back with regret in 10 years and say, “If only we had protected…”
