Cheboygan, Mich. -
Helen Begle, 62, Cheboygan passed away late Monday evening Dec. 8, 2008 at Hospice House in Cheboygan.
Helen was born in Toledo, Ohio on Nov. 11, 1946, the daughter of George and Grace (Vandercook) Lenz. The Lenz family moved to Cheboygan and Helen attended Cheboygan Schools and graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1964.
Helen was employed for several years as a waitress at a number of different restaurants in the area. In later years, Helen became involved with the foster care program in the Cheboygan area and volunteered her time in many areas concerning children and young adults. She continued her interest in children by becoming a teacherís aide in the Cheboygan school system for several years, she was always putting other peopleís needs before her own. Her main interest though was her love of her foster children. Helen also love to cook, entertain and was a caregiver to several individuals on Bois Blanc Island.
She is survived by her husband, Steve, and her children, Mitch Begle of Bois Blanc and Cheboygan, Bridget Begle Bodor (Bob) of Manitou Springs, Colo., Donald T. Jana (Shawn) of Ypsilanti, Lynn Eckerle of Petoskey, Haley Begle, Dawson Begle and Katti Begle, all of Cheboygan; nine grandchildren; sisters Kay Lenz of Monroe, Anna Coleman (Pat) of Cheboygan and Grace Wollangur (Greg) of Cheboygan, a brother Fred Lenz (Amy) of Battle Creek and Aunt Betty Lenz of Cheboygan.
Cremation has taken place, per Helenís wishes.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Mulligans in downtown Cheboygan from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may directed to the Mackinaw Straits Health Center for Oncology, St Ignace, MI 49781
Nordman Funeral is assisting the family with arrangements.

Our thougths and prayers go out to the family. Such a hard time of year to loose a loved one.

We have lost so many this year. May they await us at the dock singing "I wonder what the poor people at home are doing right now?" As a non-drinker, I picture my father gesturing with a root beer for us all to come home to B.B.I. Bless us all until that "endless summer".

Ward Spray


Here is the obit if you want to post it on the page. Maybe change the
heading to Passings 2008 or something like that?

Ward A. Spray
Ward Spray, 78, Cheboygan passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at Hospice
House in Cheboygan.
He was born in Cheboygan Jan. 27, 1930 the son of George and Doris Spray. He
married Joan Judd in 1949 in Cheboygan.
Ward was a well-known cement mason in Cheboygan most of his life, retiring a
few years ago for health reasons. Since retirement, Ward pretty much stayed
at home and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved
very much.
Ward is survived by his wife, Joan; a daughter, Jackie Garrison of
Cheboygan; sons Leonard and Roger of Cheboygan; six grandchildren; four
great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Spray of Cheboygan; a sister, Joanne
Wallin (Fred) of Mackinaw City.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Spencley,
and brothers Bud, Jack, Ronald and Roger.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planed at this time. Memorial
contributions may be directed to the Spray family.
Nordman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
