Perusing the DNR website and found this by accident.

According this, a DNR issued supplemental deer feeding permit is required however non are being issued in 2011 due to snowfall not exceeding 60".

just passing this info along. You can sort it out.

I didn't take the time to read through all the DNR gobbeldy gook. No doubt there is a permit fee to cover all the associated costs, studies and meetings involved with issuing same...

This would be so private landowners can legally feed the deer at their own expense, so the there will be more deer and higher license revenues? Ya know... "management costs" for our own good.

Around these parts. protocol has become: shoot the deer, then go buy a tag for it, just in case it doesn't get butchered fast enough... Or go ask a neighbor for a free crop damage permit from one of the 150 the DNR has issued to him.
