The museum software program has a section for biographies. I would like to get as many as possible, related to the island of course. I want yours, your parents and your grandparents and your great grandparents. The easiest way to do it is through email. I could just copy and paste. I'm also willing to type them in word for word.

So, if you or relatives want to live on, in island history, send them to me or any of the society members.

What information would you like exactly, besides parents and grandparents?

The story of your life on Bois Blanc Island is all I want. If your writing about yourself, it is an autobiography.

How did it come about that you, or your relatives, heard of BBI?
Where did your family live, other than the island?
Where were you located on the island?
What did you, or your relatives, do on BBI?
What was Bois Blanc like in your time, in detail?
Births and Deaths - dates?

People think in the present. 100 years from now, no one will have known the present [right now] or the people in it. The only way to let those people know how it was right now, or in our past, is to record it.

Clover's Memoirs, on this web site, is a good example of what I'm looking for.
The Kerr-McRae History is another example.

Great idea, and a great way to capture the kinds of information that are often lost to time. Perhaps some of this information could also be used to create an Island genealogy chart, although such a thing may already exist. It would be interesting to map out. Family connections abound! (Except for Island orphans like me, of course... Wink )
