We've been watching the fireworks from the island for the past 11 or 12 years, and I'm 99% sure, that they always occur on the 4th, weather permitting. Very Happy

To see Mackinac Island's and maybe even St. Ignace's displays, you could take Bible Rd. to the North Shore, and watch from there. I've never watched from there, but I think you'd have a pretty darn good view. Everything else on the West End is privately owned, so you'd have to have a hook-up with someone out there.

There is a place on the West End, (That I will not describe, out of respect for the owners) where large numbers of people have gathered in the past, to watch the fireworks. (And they may yet again) However, this area is private property and I happen to know that the landowners are not pleased about the practice, mostly due to the garbage, cans, bottles, and fireworks related debris that some inconsiderate folks leave behind each year. Liability is also a concern.

Duffiney is doing a fireworks boat cruise this year. I believe Plaunt does one as well. I have heard that this is an excellent/enjoyable way to view the fireworks.

We watch from our beach on the south shore of the West End. We can see Cheboygan (In the distance), Mackinaw City and St. Ignace's displays. Round Island prevents us from viewing Mackinac Island's show. I hope you find this info helpful, and find a suitable spot to enjoy the fireworks from! Very Happy

Traverse City Newspaper and Tourism Bureau has a list of when and where all of the northern MI fireworks are scheduled, some even have alternate days in case of bad weather. I found it looking for something else and now I can't find the website I was at! Darn puter!
