Hello to all who love BBI,

It has been a long winter and signs of spring are finally abound. Here at BISI we are excited about the new summer season and getting back to being BISI.

To keep you up to date, the BISI Review was not published over the winter. The last issue came out in October. For those of you with subscriptions you should have received an envelope during the fall containing all of the Reviews to date. Due to the quiet winter, we thought it would be in your best interest to hold off printing the next issue until spring. We have received some awesome articles over the winter that will be featured in the next issue. We expect another issue out in mid April.

Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions, comments, and concerns.

Looking forward to another BISI summer! See you on the island.

Jess!

Has BISI set a date for the first Roadside Clean-up of the Season? Or Gibson Park clean-up - Phase II (or is is III or IV?)? I'd like to try to be involved if we're lucky enough to get up there and have coordinated dates.

Also--my girls and I were so glad to see the BISI Recycling Bins/Center last fall! A marvelous resource for BB Islanders. Does BISI plan to keep the recycling implemented? I hope so! Let us know if we can help! (...make flyers to spread the word?)

Thanks for being "the change we wish to see in the world".
Kudo's to BISI for doing something profoundly positive for BBI.

BISI has not set a date for the Roadside Cleanups or Gibson Park Cleanups. We decided that it might be more effective to get community input about ideal dates. We do realize that it is nearly impossible to choose a date that works for everyone. Therefore, we are trying our best and plan on having multiple Cleanup events over the summer to allow for participation.

Gibson Park Cleanups need to be coordinated with the Pines School as well. For Cleanups we also need to work with Plaunt's, who graciously donate their dump trucks, and Hawks Landing, who graciously donate free scoops of ice cream for volunteers. Furthermore, BISI will need to obtain approval from the Township Board to continue depositing debris/garbage at the transfer station free of charge.

Anyone with a truck who is willing to volunteer is appreciated.

Please send us an email, BISI@wildblue.net, if you have dates that work great for you and we will do our best to plan accordingly.
