Monday at noon there will be a memorial service for vets at the cemetery on BBI. Bill Graves is organizing it. I'm not certain, but it may be the first one ever done on the island. Check it out Monday at 12 if your around.

If Mr. Graves would like a piper for the ceremony, I would be willing to volunteer my services. Someone needs to let me know ASAP, as I will be heading up there early tomorrow morning. My cell # is 586-707-0898.
(I always have my pipes, I just need to know if I should pack a kilt etc....)
Jeff

Please play the Pipes in the Key of "A" if you get a chance!!!
Have only met you once and had a ball - but having a little trouble visualizing the Kilt thing - I've seen the time you could get hit on at the bar wearing something like that!! Laughing Laughing

The memorial was really nice. Background music on a violin while Bill Graves gave a little memorial speech. That was followed by "taps" on the violin, then three shots, and ending with bagpipe music.

The sun shone and there was a light breeze. There were bugs, but it could have been a lot worse.

Sounds beautiful, any pictures? This would be one for the history book!

I took a few digitals, but I'll have to see about getting them from my camera and onto this website! I'll try to figure it out!

It was a very nice ceremony, indeed.
