I was hoping someone could tell me. It was mentioned in the online Tribune, but I'm too cheap to pay for a paper that is more typos than not.

The ice is still being crossed, but is covered by slush now, but not too deep. An augered hole was measured a few days back near the flag. It was 14 inches thick. It is supposed to rain and our beautiful ice bridge may soon be going.

I have software to measure how close the tanker got. It got within 1.8 miles of the treeline. The shipping Co. claims 2.4 miles. The biggest problem was not knowing the ships intentions at the time he went west of Point aux Pins. The ship did do a little pushing around to get loose the next morning, after anchoring out in front of the pavilion for the night. It sure did look close from the treeline, when I crossed the evening the ship did that, because it was so big. It was rude of that ship to do that and scare us.

Well folks, the ice melted away through the treeline to a point at least half a mile west of where the line was. It is the END of the ice crossing season.

I'll post a picture to show what I mean.

I hear the water levels are waaaaay down? Is that true? And will that hinder when the first ferry over will be? My family and I were thinking next weekend for a trip up...is that going to be a possibility or no?
