Lani and I watched the PBS fireworks in DC on television. It means more to us, because when we took a trip to Gettysburg and DC one time, we ended up at the end of a reflecting pool, near the capital on the Fourth of July, and listened to the music behind us as the guns shot off in front of us. The crowds of thousands were all around and the fireworks were going off right in front of us. At the same time, last night, as we watched TV, we could turn our head and see Mackinaw's fireworks out the window. Just the two of us here. Nice and quiet. It gave me a warm feeling of peace. We live in a great country. It is in stark contrast to what we are seeing going on in the Middle East. We are very lucky to be Americans.
