For those with extra "stuff", you can rent a spot for $10 and sell it. The spot will be in front of the Historical Society building, July 21. Set-up in the morning. Bring everything you will need to do the job. For details contact a Historical Society officer. There may be a more formal announcement to follow. I wanted to get the word out as soon as possible, to spur interest.

edited by Rob, added poll, added to calendar, changed to announcement

It's probably been at least 10-15 years since I have been on the island for the ice cream social, and I was wondering if they still do fireworks down by the old dock in the Pins?

I'm not an active member of the BBI Association, but the answer might be that it costs a lot, it might start fires, and the liability is too great. Those factors, or others, put a stop to the fireworks.

I remember, back in the good ol days, when the "elders" would let the teenagers, like me, launch the fireworks out of pipes buried in the beach, right at the Pines dock. What danger - what fun!
