HELLO, thumbs_up!

I RESENTLY TALKED TO MY BROTHER ABOUT GOING TO THE ISLAND
FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY AND DOING SOME CAMPING.

I 'AM A SCUBA DIVER AND
I WAS WONDERING IT THERE WAS ANY GOOD THINGS TO SEE
UNDER THE WATER THAT I COULD GET TO WITH OUT A BOAT?

MAYBE A SHIPWRECK OR SOMETHING.

ALSO WHAT IS THE WATER DEPTH LIKE AROUND THE ISLAND ?

THANK YOU
WALT

Hi Walt! There are numerous wrecks to explore, if you have a boat. Visibility is good to excellent, thanks to those zebra mussels. In my experience, the water off the south and west sides of the island is much more temperate, than the water on the north side. (McCrae Bay) I don't have a big boat, just dinghys. I will have my diving gear on the island this summer. Maybe we can hook up for a dive or two. Send me a private message, with your contact #, if you're interested.

The cribs of the old hotel dock are kind of fun to dive around. You can also check out the remnants of the old rail road dock down at sand bay-just be careful how you get there I guess.
