Does anyone know if there are any ship wrecks in the vicinity of BBI? The channel between BBI and Round Island seems a likely place but I've never hears of any. I'd like to dive this summer when we are up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Check with your local dive shop.. Bet they have the maps to all the wrecks in the straits.. I know there are a few but I think they are on the west side of the bridge.. There has to be one out there though.. Hey! If not a shipwreck want to check out a snowmobile and trailer? Laughing Get together with my brother Al, the postmaster.. Bet he would be interested in finding out whats left of the supplies they got in town the day they went thru the ice.. That would be kewl! Laughing

I'll consult with my parents (SCUBA diver extrorinaires). I know they've done some diving around the island in thier day. The wreck of the Cedarville however, is a fully intact freighter which is near the bridge.

My sis dives. I think she went a few years ago. They headed out of Sand Bay, but I think it was too windy that day. I'll email her

Yes Lana, your dad took Missy to the Cedarville, I considered doing it this past summer, but she didn't come up. I think there is another good wreck dive off the east end of the island, I can't remember the name right now though.

Troy, I read and re-read your post and I'm hoping that the humor I'm finding in it is not in bad taste! You do mean that she didn't come up North, right? Shocked

Thats pretty good Rudy, I never thought of it that way. What I meant was, she didn't make it up north to the island.

Thank God, my sister is still alive. Maybe this summer? We might all be on BBI at the same time. Last week in July for the Whites.
