Hi ya'll - I'm Rudy's Pami-roo. I have for months read his postings and responses from all of you and sort of envied his growing relationship with ya'll. Yes, I'm a holler girl from West Virginia who loves my man, our fur child Mac, my five kitties and our little house up on the hill. However, I am REALLY looking forward to us moving to Michigan as soon as he can acquire a teaching position in Michigan. Besides the aforementioned loves, some of my really-likes are playing the piano, tin whistle, bohran, singing, dancing, working out in the yard, and being on or in the water. I'm longing to make my first trip to Bois Blanc and keeping my fingers crossed that it will happen this summer. I am especially looking forward to a face-to-face (hopefully around a campfire on the island) with each of YOU!

Thanks for the warm welcomes ya'll!

Rob, a tin whistle is a six hole wind instrument that is easy to, within a relatively short time, produce a tune on. Generally the instrument is made of metal (early ones were of tin but they now come in other metals or plastic) with a plastic or wood piece that you blow into. The tin whistle is a Celtic (spoken with a "k" not a "sss") instrument, which is one of the reasons it held such appeal for me. (My momma told me our family was made up of Scots, German and rogue Irish.) I was so happy when I discovered I was able to work out tunes relatively quickly (although still with the occasional uncontrolled squeal or squeek). The bohran is a celtic drum that's round, open on the back, with a wooden frame and cross pieces. The drum is held with one hand holding the cross pieces in the back and played with a small stick, or beater, with rounded knobs on each end. Besides practice the other thing that makes both instruments sound better is a round (or two or . . .) of drinks! Whew! Wink
